Defending Champs "Post" Another PK Victory
Michigan defeated UCLA in an exciting match 1-1 with a 9-8 victory in 10 rounds of PKs to advance to the semifinals.
Second half goals by Michigan's Gari Martinovski on a beautiful free kick 28 yards from the goal and UCLA's Ouadhah Ragued on an equally gorgeous shot from the right side of the penalty box set the scene for the PKs.
In the 10th round, UCLA's Noah Rothstein bounced his shot off of the left post and Michigan's Jason Riley made his true to end the match.

After tying their pool play match 2-2, after each defeated Auburn 1-0, after 6 rounds of PKs in which each team only missed in round 4, Indiana's Nick Young put away his PK in round 7 andUCLA's Daniel Croymans' PK hit square off the crossbar and away to end the shoot-out 6-5 in Indiana's favor. Michigan State won the pool with a 2-1 victory over Cornell. Michigan State defeated UCSB earlier in pool play to win the tiebreaker as both teams advanced to the quarterfinal. Penalty Kicks to decide Men's Pool A in Champ Div.
Indiana and UCLA from the Men's Championship Division finished in a dead heat in Pool A after both defeated Auburn 1-0 and both tied in their own game 2-2. They will head for a penalty kick tiebreaker scheduled for 11:45am on Field 10 of the Brosnaham Sportsplex. The winner will play Wisconsin-Milwaukee immediately afterwards in the beginning of Round of 16 bracket play. The loser will play Penn State.
